Eser ÖZDİL

Eser Özdil has 14 years of business experience. As part of his professional portfolio, Eser Özdil is responsible for management of GLOCAL Consulting, Investment & Trade, where he is advising to top energy companies on public policy, government relations and commercial diplomacy, commercial due diligence, strategy and business development, mergers & acquisitions, investment and trade. Between 2012 and 2020, Mr. Özdil worked as Secretary General at Petroleum and Natural Gas Platform Association (PETFORM) based in Ankara, Turkey. Regarded as one of the most influential sectoral organization in Turkish oil and gas industry, PETFORM gathers 50 member companies under its umbrella varying from multinationals to Turkish conglomerates. Mr. Özdil was responsible for managing PETFORM as well as designing lobbying channels and strategies at the presence of government institutions of Turkey and in transferring comments and messages of the private sector.

 

He chaired the ‘TRGas-Hub’ project, 3-year EU-funded project coordinated by PETFORM with partnership of the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources in Turkey, European Federation of Energy Traders (EFET) and ICIS Heren. The project was selected as the “Best Project of 2013” by the Ministry of EU in Turkey and contributed to the gas trading hub strategy of the country immensely. Prior to PETFORM, he worked at various regional associations and prominent think-tanks in Turkey.

Mr. Özdil participated in several official meetings of international organizations, namely Union for the Mediterranean (UfM), European Union, World Bank, OECD, IEA, EFET, and IGU. Mr. Özdil has been asked to speak at various energy gatherings mostly focused on E&P sector, energy security and geopolitical risks, natural gas market and hub development. In addition to all of his achievements, he is writing columns at Energy IQ, which is sole bi-weekly Turkish energy market report and Mr. Ozdil’s engaging articles are being widely-read by the energy sector professionals in Turkey and in the region.

Also, Mr. Özdil joined IVLP (International Visitor Leadership Program), the global public diplomacy program run by the U.S. Department of State. He is also a member of the BMW Foundation Responsible Leaders Network.
